CurAlert (“we”, “us”) is a public-safety alert app for Curaçao. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account details: name, email, optional phone number, neighborhood
• Notification preferences and device push token (if you enable alerts)
• Location only when needed for alerts, map, or incident reports (with permission)
• Photos and text you voluntarily submit in reports or tips
• Safety check-in responses you send for an alert

How we use information

• Deliver emergency and weather alerts relevant to your area
• Review and publish community incident reports
• Operate safety check-ins and missing-person tips
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse

Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers. Data may be shared with emergency authorities only as needed for public safety, or with processors that host our service (e.g. cloud hosting, push delivery) under appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

• Access and update your profile in the app
• Manage notification and location permissions on your device
• Delete your account in the app: Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account and associated personal data from our systems.

Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. After account deletion, personal account data is removed or anonymized. Aggregated operational logs may be retained for security and service integrity.

Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

CurAlert is intended for general public safety use. We do not knowingly collect data from children for marketing.
